How can I help?
BYU Student Volunteers Needed: Visiting Jr. High students will have the opportunity to listen to an introductory orientation that will last approximately 15 minutes. Students will then complete a 30 minute walking tour of campus. We need BYU students to help conduct these walking tours! BYU student volunteers will have the opportunity to work with groups of 15 students (please note groups sizes may differ based on the number of available BYU volunteers), answer questions about admission policies and student life at BYU, as well as lead students in a 30 minute tour of some of the highlights of BYU campus. See the link entitled tour schedule highlights for more information.
Our students (13-14 year olds) will be divided into three different groups of approximately 150 students. The first group will be on campus from 9:30-10:30 a.m., the second group will be on campus from 10:30-11:30 a.m.(with lunch in the Wilkinson Center from 11:30-12:10) and the last and final group will be on campus from 12:45-1:45 p.m. It is my hope to get the assistance of a minimum of 10 BYU student volunteers for each of the three rotations, 30 students in total, thus allowing the groups to be broken down into groups of 15 jr high students to each BYU volunteer. The smaller group will allow for more mobility, be less intrusive on campus, and provide jr. high students the opportunity to ask questions and work one on one with a “genuine” college student.
