Spanish Pronunciation:  A Comprehensive Unit in Five Lessons

Lesson I:
Introduction to Pronunciation

Lesson 1 of 5 pronunciation lessons.  Lesson 1.Over the course of this series of lessons you will come to recognize and practice correct Spanish Phonetics.  In the process you will learn to read, speak, write and understand Spanish. In so doing you will recognize the perfection of the language.
  • In lesson I you will tackle the roots of the Spanish Phonetic Alphabet including:
    • Recognizing why Spanish is considered one of the easiest language for English speakers to learn.
    • Recognizing why Spanish is “more” organized and grammatically consistent than English.
    • Recognizing how a phonetic understanding of the Spanish Alphabet will improve your ability to use Cognates.

Lesson II: 
​Spanish Vowels

Lesson 2 of 5 Pronunciation Lessons: Recognizing, speaking and understanding Spanish Vowels
  • In Lesson 2 Students will learn the Spanish Vowels. This includes:
    • Recognizing correct Spanish Vowel Pronunciation.
    • Speaking & using phonetically correct Spanish Vowels
    • Understanding and listening to phonetically correct Spanish vowels. 
Lesson II Supports Include:
  1. Instructional Video (24 minutes
  2. Video Listening Guide
  3. Quiz "Los Vocales Espanol" Quiz can be uploaded digitally or completed via a soft copy
  4. Listening Assignment to Check for Mastery of Vowel Understanding with accompanying rubric

Lesson III: Part I
Los Consonants, Spanish Consonants

  • In Lesson 3, Part I & 2,  Students will learn the Spanish Consonents This includes:
    • Recognizing correct Spanish Consonant Pronunciation.
    • Speaking & using phonetically correct Spanish Consonants
    • Understanding and listening to phonetically correct Spanish consonants
Lesson III Supports Include:
  1. Two Instructional Video 
  2. Video Listening Guides for both videos
