The purpose of these three courses is to provide classroom instructors the opportunity to (1)learn about, (2)create and (3)practice technologies that encourage student and parent participation in the classroom, with the end goal of increased academic progress. Teachers will learn about, create and implement various technologies including (but not limited to) interactive class websites, interactive online classroom management tools, and one way text messaging for contacting parents. The purpose of the course is to give teachers the tools to incorporate these techniques into their classroom. To ensure lasting impact participants will devise an action plan for incorporating the strategies into their own classroom. All teachers will be expected to have a lap top, and access to the internet.
All courses will utilize direct instruction, on hands participation, and collaborative group work to ensure all participants are prepared to utilize the techniques presented to improve student and parent communication and ensure academic progress. The Website Course objectives will be centered on the following nine instructional techniques: 1) Creating and utilizing interactive websites, 2) Using and monitoring student and parent blogs 3) Creating and managing online surveys 4) Uploading student work and assignments 5) Creating a Strong Classroom Culture 6) Using dojo to set, maintain and convey high behavioral expectations to students and parents, 7) Using text messaging and email to convey and maintain high academic expectations. The Podcasting Course Objectives will be centered on the following four instructional techniques: 1) Recording, editing and exporting podcasts to assist with classroom instruction, 2) Importing and editing sounds, 3) Exporting and publishing completed podcasts into a variety of mediums and online sites, 4) Creating student centered podcasts that support the curriculum.

Techs & Apps in the 21st Century CLassroom
The purpose of the course is to provide classroom instructors the opportunity to (1)learn about, (2)create and (3)practice technologies that encourage increased student engagement in an interactive 21st Century Classroom with the end goal of increased academic progress. Teachers will learn about, create and implement various software to improve student learning and engagement including (but not limited to) Bingo Baker, lucid press, lucid charts, camstasia, remind text messaging, word clouds, quizziz, quizlet, factile (jeopardy rocks), inklewriter, flipgrid, flipsnack, classtools, timelinejs, google forms, and google spreadsheets. The purpose of the course is to give teachers the tools to incorporate these techniques into their classroom.
